Many residents have voiced concerns about the placement of a large-scale and government-funded datacenter in our township. The University of Michigan and Los Alamos have not been forthcoming or honest about the work and their long-term intentions of the site they picked off Textile and Bridge road. This website is a community-driven publication, to provide as much accurate information as possible about the project, and to provide tools to help residents and concerned citizens take action against this project.
This site is operated by Datacenter Detective, a resident-run project based in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan. It is not affiliated with the University of Michigan, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Ypsilanti Township government, or any political party or campaign committee.
We are independent, journalistic, and do not take direction from any company or organization. Given that we are opposed to the datacenter project, we will provide our research, resources, and assistance to any township resident or elected official to help further their efforts to stop this datacenter from being built.
For the safety of our sources, we are not disclosing any source’s name unless they specifically request to be named. This is due to the heightened visibility of this project and credible threats that have been made against people who have spoken out publicly.
